Ningbo Railway Station
is a national Class A passenger terminal. Its
terminal building has a floorage of 5060 square
meters and can accommodate 2,500 passengers at
peak time. The through train from Ningbo to Baotou
was opened on July 1, 1993, that from Ningbo to
Hefei on April 1, 1997, and that from Ningbo to
Beijing, Guangzhou and Jilin on October 1, 1998.
The inter-city train between Ningbo and Hangzhou
was added in 2000. In 2004 alone, Ningbo Railway
Station dispatched total 4,190,000 passengers
and handled total freight of 19,807,000 tons.
The railway station is in
the Southern part of downtown Ningbo.

The city's road network open to traffic is 5615
km in length, including 184 km for expressways
and 4033 km for first-grade and second-grade highways.
The highway density is 58.9 km per 100 sq. km.
With the harbors as the centers, the expressways,
National and provincial highways radiate in all
directions to cities and towns to form a traffic
network. The roads and main highways leading to
the city proper are all of the first grade or
above. Main highways include the No. 329 national
highway leading to Hangzhou and linking Zhoushan,
the No. 34 provincial highway to Taizhou and Wenzhou,
and the No. 36 provincial highway leading to Shaoxin
and Jinhua. Besides, the 145-km-long Hangzhou-Ningbo
Expressway was put to use in end 1996; the 122-km-long
Ningbo section of the Tongshan-Sanya National
Expressway which links Taizhou and Wenzhou along
the way was completed and opened to traffic in
December 2001. Each county (county-level city)
and district of Ningbo is linked to the city's
road network by at least one trunk highway. The
road transportation network has covered the city
proper, the counties (county-level cities), districts
and towns, complete with passenger and cargo terminals
and other facilities. In 2003, 240 million passengers
and 90.70 million ton cargo were transported through
the city's road network.

| Ningbo Lishe Airport, technically a Class 4D
airport, is provided with advanced communication
and navigation control systems and may accommodate
large and medium-size planes such as Md-82, Boeing-737,
Boeing-757.
The airport currently operates 40 domestic,
international or local-service airlines, including
the lines to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenyang,
Xi'an, Xiamen, Nanchang, Haikou, Shantou, Shenzhen,
Changsha, Nanjing, Kunming, Chengdu, Tianjin,
Taiyuan,Zhengzhou,Zhuhai, Hefei, Guilin, Chongqin,
Dalian, Qingdao, Wuhan, Fuzhou, Harbin, Urumchi,
Fukuoka (Japan), Incheon (Korea), Bangkok (Thailand),
Hong Kong, Macao, Kaohsiung (Taiwan). The airport
handled total 1,852,000 passengers and total
35,000-ton cargo in 2004. It is among the busiest
airports of China.
